Dark Energy Survey Year 3 results: Exploiting small-scale information with lensing shear ratios

چکیده

Using the first three years of data from Dark Energy Survey, we use ratios small-scale galaxy-galaxy lensing measurements around same lens sample to constrain source redshift uncertainties, intrinsic alignments and other nuisance parameters our model. Instead using a simple geometric approach for ratios, full modeling measurements, including corresponding integration over power spectrum contributions magnification. We perform extensive testing shear ratio (SR) by studying impact different effects such as inclusion baryonic physics, non-linear biasing, halo occupation distribution descriptions magnification, among others, realistic $N$-body simulations. validate robustness constraints in two independent samples, deriving large-scale which is simpler. The DES Y3 results demonstrate how provide significant improvements constraining several model, especially on calibration (IA). For redshifts, SR improves prior up 38\% some bins. Such improvements, it provides IA, translate tighter cosmological when combined with cosmic 2pt functions. In particular, data, $S_8$ 31\%, combination probes (3$\times$2pt) 10\%. presented this work are used an additional likelihood shear, 2$\times$2pt 3$\times$2pt fiducial analysis.

Constraining Dark Energy by Combining Cluster Counts and Shear–Shear Correlations in a Weak Lensing Survey

We study the potential of a large future weak–lensing survey to constrain dark energy properties by using both the number counts of detected galaxy clusters (sensitive primarily to density fluctuations on small scales) and tomographic shear–shear correlations (restricted to large scales). We use the Fisher matrix formalism, assume a flat universe and parameterize the equation of state of dark e...

Inference from the small scales of cosmic shear with current and future Dark Energy Survey data

Cosmic shear is sensitive to fluctuations in the cosmological matter density field, including on small physical scales, where matter clustering is affected by baryonic physics in galaxies and galaxy clusters, such as star formation, supernovae feedback, and active galactic nuclei feedback. While muddying any cosmological information that is contained in small-scale cosmic shear measurements, th...

Dark Energy Constraints from the Ctio Lensing Survey

We perform a cosmological parameter analysis of the 75 square degree CTIO lensing survey in conjunction with CMB and Type Ia supernovae data. For ΛCDM cosmologies, we find that the amplitude of the power spectrum at low redshift is given by σ8 = 0.81 +0.15 −0.10 (95% c.l.), where the error bar includes both statistical and systematic errors. The total of all systematic errors is smaller than th...

Weak lensing, dark matter and dark energy

Weak gravitational lensing is rapidly becoming one of the principal probes of dark matter and dark energy in the universe. In this brief review we outline how weak lensing helps determine the structure of dark matter halos, measure the expansion rate of the universe, and distinguish between modified gravity and dark energy explanations for the acceleration of the universe. We also discuss requi...

Weak lensing and dark energy

We study the power of upcoming weak lensing surveys to probe dark energy. Dark energy modifies the distance-redshift relation as well as the matter power spectrum, both of which affect the weak lensing convergence power spectrum. Some dark-energy models predict additional clustering on very large scales, but this probably cannot be detected by weak lensing alone due to cosmic variance. With rea...
